Initial Consultation:

Sarah came to me for coaching to help her regain her form and confidence on the golf course. During our initial consultation, we discussed her recent performances, her goals, and any changes that might have impacted her game.

Techniques Used:

Brain Gym –

I used brain gym to help create rapport by mirroring Sarah’s movements during the workout, while also helping her set a specific goal

Focus Awareness Technique –

I relaxed Sarah down and focused her mind

Timelining -

I used timelining to help Sarah identify when the problem with her game began. We went through her recent games and training sessions, and we found out that her struggles started after a particularly stressful tournament.

Reframing -

I helped Sarah reframe her negative thoughts and beliefs about her game. By using positive language and focusing on her strengths and achievements, we were able to boost her confidence and motivation toward improving her game.

The Power of Suggestion -

I used the power of suggestion to help Sarah imagine herself achieving her goals. This technique is used to create a positive mental image of the desired outcome, which in turn helps to build confidence and belief in one's abilities.

The power of suggestion is where the phrase "I put a spell on you" comes from. The word "spell" actually comes from the Old English word "spellian," which means to talk or speak

This highlights the fact that words are incredibly powerful and can have a significant impact on our thoughts, feelings, and actions

Just as a magician can use spells to influence their audience, sports performers and athletes can use the power of suggestion to enhance their performance. By choosing their words carefully and using positive language, they can create a mindset that empowers them to achieve their goals and perform at their best

“Words and magic were in the beginning one and the same thing, and even today words retain much of their magical power.”

― Sigmund Freud, Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis

Metaphors For Confidence And Motivation -

Metaphors are powerful indirect suggestions because they engage the listener's imagination and tap into their subconscious mind, making them more receptive to new ideas or perspective

EFT Tapping -

I used EFT tapping to help Sarah calm her nerves and reduce her anxiety levels. We worked on specific triggers that were causing her to feel nervous and stressed during games, and we used tapping to release those negative emotions and create a more positive and relaxed state of mind.

The Metaphor of a Butterfly -

I used the metaphor of a butterfly to help Sarah visualize the process of regaining her form. We talked about how a butterfly goes through different stages before it can spread its wings and fly, and we applied this metaphor to Sarah's golfing journey. This helped her understand that her current struggles were just a temporary phase, and that with time and practice, she would be able to fly again.

Goal Setting -

We set specific goals for Sarah's game, both short-term and long-term. We broke down her long-term goals into smaller, achievable steps, and we set a timeline for each stage. This helped her stay focused and motivated towards her goals.

The Metaphor of William Tell

I used the metaphor of William Tell, a legendary archer known for his accuracy and focus, to inspire Sarah to improve her skills. This metaphor encouraged him to visualize her shots hitting the target accurately and consistently.

Over the course of 10 weeks, Sarah worked diligently on her game and practiced the techniques we discussed during our coaching sessions. She made significant progress in regaining her form and confidence on the golf course. She reported feeling more relaxed and focused during games, and her accuracy and consistency improved. By using these techniques, I was able to help Sarah overcome her limiting beliefs and regain her form and confidence on the golf course. Together, we were able to achieve lasting change and help Sarah become the consistent and accurate player she used to be.
